Denver Engagement & Proposal Photography
From the neighborhood brewery to golden hour on your favorite summit, we build your session around who you two are.
If the idea of an hour in front of a camera makes one of you want to fake an illness, trust us, we get it. Almost every couple we photograph starts the session a little stiff. That's normal, and it's ours to fix, not yours.
So we don't put you in stiff poses. We take a walk, we chat, we give you small things to do, and somewhere around the twenty minute mark you'll forget we're there. That's when the best photos happen. And those awkward warm up shots? They never have to see the light of day.
Think of it as a date,
but with a super fun third wheel
How it Works

Inquire Book Plan Shoot
Tell us a little about you two. How you met, what you like doing together, whether you're picturing aspen gold or snow. A rough idea is plenty.
We take what you told us and suggest the time and place that fit. A signed contract and payment secures your date.
Then we dive into the details together: outfits, activities, props, timing. By the week of, you'll know exactly where to be, what to wear, and what to bring.
You show up as yourselves. We handle the directing the whole way through, so you're never wondering what to do next. Your only job is to be there and be in love.

“Jillian at SolPine studios did such an amazing job on our engagement photos! After one video call to get to know us she had a plan! She sent over locations to choose from, helped with outfit ideas and truly made the experience SO easy. It was freezing that day, but that didn’t stop her! She had so many ideas and you could see how excited she was about how the photos were turning out! She even got my fiancé to relax and look natural!”

The Proposal
-
We plan the moment together: the spot, the timing, the hiding spot, and how to know when it’s go time. From there you pop the question and we capture it all. Then we step out of the trees, introduce ourselves, and flow straight into a full portrait session while it's still sinking in.

“On the day of the proposal, Jillian went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She arrived well before we did, found the perfect spot to stay hidden in plain sight, and even kindly asked other hikers to keep moving along the trail so the proposal area wouldn’t be crowded. Because of her thoughtfulness, we were able to have such a private and intimate moment, and that meant the world to us.”

Where Denver couples love to take photos
In town. RiNo's murals and brick alleys. City Park at dusk with the skyline over the lake. Wash Park under fall trees. South Pearl on a quiet Sunday. Sloan's Lake at sunset. In Boulder: Chautauqua's meadow light, Lost Gulch at golden hour, Pearl Street if you're downtown people.
In the mountains. Sapphire Point above Lake Dillon, an easy walk with a big payoff. Loveland Pass or Guanella Pass for ridgelines with no hike at all. Brainard Lake for water and peaks in one frame. Rocky Mountain National Park for the classic, permit handled by us.
You don't need to know any of these places. That's the point of hiring locals. We match the location to your outfits, your walking appetite, and the season.
Bring a plan, not just outfits
LET’S DO SOMETHING
Standing on an overlook smiling at a camera is fine for about ten minutes. The sessions we love most have something happening in them: a brewery flight, the climbing gym, fly rods on the Platte, a picnic you'd actually eat, breakfast burritos on the tailgate, the Sunday coffee ritual with the good mugs. Your thing, whatever your thing is.
An activity gives your hands something to do and your faces something real to react to, and the photographs stop looking like photographs of a photoshoot. They start looking like your life, on a particularly good day.
Tell us the thing you two actually do together and we'll build the session around it. Need ideas? We keep a running list.
Questions couples ask about sessions
-
Wherever your life happens or wherever the light is best. The location section above has our shortlist, and when you inquire we narrow it to two or three options that fit who you are as a couple.
-
Yes, film is included in all of our sessions.
-
Two to six weeks for most of the year. For aspen season, book in early summer. Those dates go first every year.
-
Of course! Bring a leash and a friend who can wrangle the pup while we grab a few portraits of just you two.
-
That's our favorite part of the job. We scout where to be, we look like hikers with a camera, and we've never been caught. The planning happens wherever you think you’re least likely to be discovered. (Put that junk email address to good use!)
Go on, ask us out!
Tell us the rough idea: golden hour, a place with a view, or your favorite brewery is plenty. We'll bring the plan, the prompts, and the treats for the dog. You just bring each other.
