We show up months before: learning your vision, sourcing the permits, coordinating every vendor, building the timeline, walking the location before you arrive, all so that on the day itself you have nothing to think about except being present with each other.
Some couples want a courthouse and a candle lit dinner. Others want a multi-day adventure exploring the backcountry in wedding clothes, setting up camp at altitude, saying their vows somewhere that takes effort to reach.

We don't have a template for what an elopement is supposed to look like, we help you build your day from the ground up and we commit to capturing it as it happens. At all times we carry emergency supplies such as a first aid kit, a satellite communication device, and extra layers to make sure we remain safe. Leave-no-trace is also part of our ethos so we make sure we have everything we need to pack out what we pack in.

Eloping in Estes Park or
Rocky Mountain National Park
RMNP is the most in-demand elopement location in Colorado, and one of the strictest. The park only issues about 60 wedding permits a month and with 13 designated ceremony sites, timed-entry windows, and dates that sell out nearly a year ahead, there are lots of things to consider. We’ve planned and photographed enough RMNP elopements to know all the ins-and-outs. And we’ve written a guide to help you learn the basics.

Hi! I’m Jillian.
Like a lot of folks, I started my photography journey in high school. Unlike many others, I started shooting on film before picking up a digital camera. I immediately fell in love with the process of developing my own film and I’d get giddy watching my images appear before my eyes. I continue my photography journey learning more about digital photography and editing and came to appreciate the freedom a digital file gives you.
As soon as I could, I moved to Colorado. After growing up in Florida, I craved the seasons, all four of them. The summer afternoons up at altitude, the way aspens go gold for two weeks in the fall, snow on the front range by Halloween, the long blue light of February mornings.
Fast forward to meeting Ethan: photographer, fiancé, and the person who pushed me to take my photography seriously. He inspired me to take my photography from a hobby and turn it into SolPine Studios. Now, we shoot weddings and elopements together, while he continues to run his maternity and commercial photography businesses.
We chose Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park as a focus because we keep ending up here, on weekends, on hikes, on slow mornings with coffee. (It’s even where we’re getting married this fall!) It’s a place that’s near and dear to our hearts and we hope it will be for you as well.

Some couples want the wedding to be the adventure itself. A backpacking route, a jeep trail into the backcountry, a sunrise hike and evening of stargazing, a full-day experience that needs time, planning, and the right team behind it. This collection is built for that.

Things couples are asking about eloping
Do we need permits to elope in Colorado?

The short answer is: it depends. Rocky Mountain NP has a cap on how many ceremony permits they’ll issue and require reservations months out, while smaller parks require less notice and less stress. But don’t fret, this is all part of our job.
Can we have friends or family at our elopement?

Yes. Most of our locations comfortably fit a handful of people, and several designated sites in RMNP allow up to 30. If your list is bigger than that, you’re planning a microwedding, and we do those too. Here’s how to tell which one you’re planning.
What is the best time of year to elope in Colorado?

Every season has something special to off and seasons change by elevation. The right season is the one that matches what you want the day to feel like. Spring has a mix of snow and new growth, while summer has abundant wildflowers and long golden hours, fall has an eruption of color in the aspen, and winter has solitude, snow-loaded forests, and stillness.
What if the weather turns?

We always have a backup plan. We are meticulous about checking the forecast so we can be prepared for whatever Colorado may throw at us. We also build timeline buffers and alternate locations into every elopement plan in case things go sideways. That being said, we've photographed in rain, snow, fog, and hail and sometimes moody weather yields the most amazing photos.
Do we need an officiant or witness?

No. Colorado allows self-solemnization: the two of you can legally marry yourselves, no officiant, no witnesses. It’s one of the reasons this state is the best place in the country to elope. We’ll walk you through the license logistics during planning.
Can our dog come with us?

Yes please! As long as your chosen location is dog friendly. (We can factor this in when planning your perfect spot.) And if your dog is going to be present, they might as well sign your marriage license too, right?
